Attach a File to a New Entry

When collaborating online, it can be useful to attach to an entry one or more files that can provide related information.

For example, if you and your teammates are discussing the next version of a product, you may want to attach a file containing its financial projections. Or, you may want to upload graphics files that are referenced in another uploaded document.

To attach files as you add topics, URLs, or other entries:

  1. From the discussion forum, click on the Add toolbar item.

    A drop-down menu appears.

  2. In the menu, click on the link for the type of entry you want to add (such as a discussion topic or URL), then fill out the required elements of the form.
    Note: To add attachments to a document entry, you need to create the document entry first. For more information, click on the link at the bottom of this page.
  3. Toward the bottom of the form, next to the "Attach a file (optional)" text box, click Browse.
  4. Locate and select the attachment you want to upload from your computer.

    The file path appears in the text box.

  5. On the Forum form, click OK.

    Our software displays the new entry and its attachments.
